Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Chez Nicole Café PMU, a charming culinary gem nestled in the heart of Wissant, France. Located at 5 Rue Gambetta, this quaint café has become a beloved institution among locals and tourists alike, famed for its exceptional moules-frites and a welcoming ambiance that encapsulates the spirit of French dining.

As soon as you step through the doors, you're greeted by the friendly staff, ready to provide a warm and inviting service that makes you feel right at home. Customers like Ken Kim have praised the staff for their helpfulness and the delightful experience they offer, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal.

The highlight of any visit to Chez Nicole is undoubtedly the mussels. Diners rave about their freshness and flavor, with Ion Motoc exclaiming that they had the best mussels ever, not fully understanding the secret behind the café's beloved recipe. It's clear that the kitchen allows the natural flavors of the ingredients to shine, with little interference. Customers like Julien Remy emphasize this simplicity, noting that even those who aren't fans of mussels leave with a newfound appreciation. The café focuses on quality over variety, serving up a modest menu that revolves around this classic dish.

And let's not forget the fries—a perfect accompaniment. Though Robbe Maselis described them as initially appearing greasy, he found them to be irresistibly crunchy and flavorful. The generous portions are sure to satisfy any hearty appetite. For dessert, the Tarte Papin provides a sweet finish to the meal, though one might hope for a bit more plum than found in some servings.

Visitors from afar, like Bart Cogghe, return again and again to indulge in the café's exceptional cuisine, highlighting its combination of great atmosphere and affordability. It's this blend of excellent food and genuine hospitality that ensures Chez Nicole Café PMU remains a cherished dining destination.

Very helpful staff and friendly. Thanks for the food and good service

We live in Cologne, Germany but come here twice per year because we love it so much! Great moules-frites, great atmosphere and very affordable. Merci Nicole!

We had the best mussels ever! I don’t know their recipe, but it has something special!

If you like mussels, don't look any further. There's a reason why this place is a local institution. True, there's only one dish, no variations. But they're SO GOOD and so fresh that you don't need anything else. They let the mussels speak for themselves, and for such a fair price. I really enjoyed it, and I'm usually not a mussels lover.

When I was a child, the North of France was a popular destination because of the good weather, beautiful surroundings and gastronomy. It seems like time has stopped in Café Chez Nicole, because when we went there for dinner last weekend it looked exactly the same as 18 years ago. The same modest menu (mussels with fries or ham with fries), the same huge portions of mussels (the picture shows a serving of two) and even the same bartenders. The mussels were quite small and had a white appearance, but the taste was great! No sand or crabs in them. The fries looked greasy at first but were delicious, and had a good crunch to them. The Tarte Papin (a flan cake with plums) that I took for dessert was light and creamy. Unfortunately I found only 1 dried plum in my piece though. Chez Nicole is a simple, low-key place, but expect to enjoy a friendly, local atmosphere!

Have a great and cosy plate of moules frites in a familiar atmosphere! Great value for money. But be on time!
